Your board powers on but the console stays blank, and you do not know which of the ten things you did last night is wrong. Or you are choosing your first board and every option looks the same. These checklists fix both: steps in the order that works, each with one thing you must observe before moving on.
Most boot failures happen at an earlier step than the one showing the symptom. The checklist fixes the order, so you always know what to check next.
“I flashed the SD card” is a memory. “Boot text on the serial console” is proof. Each step names one observation that shows it worked before you move on.
